Timber Pro Coatings was founded 22 years ago with the goal of creating a unique and environmentally safe exterior wood finish that was more durable than traditional wood stains. The company was founded by a group of custom builders and wood treating professionals who were unable to find a wood stain product that met their needs, so they decided to develop their own.
They enlisted the help of some of the best independent wood finish formulators in North America and combined their knowledge of wood, building, and design with the formulators’ expertise in coating chemistry to create a truly unique wood stain protectant.
Timber Pro Coatings first opened its doors in 1996 in the Pacific Northwest, with two independently owned manufacturing facilities in Portland, Oregon, and Richmond, BC, Canada.
In its early years, the company saw itself as a “wood stain microbrewery,” handcrafting a specialty wood finish that was relatively uncommon at the time, when environmentally friendly coatings were scarce.
